Dr. Sang-beom Kim completed his orthopedic residency at Asan Medical Center, University of Ulsan College of Medicine, and went on to build clinical experience at Sejong Sports Orthopedic Clinic, TK Orthopedic Clinic Foot & Ankle Center, and 210 Orthopedic Clinic, among others.
He now sees patients as Director of Goyang Team Doctor Orthopedic Clinic.
He is also active in academic societies including the Korean Orthopaedic Association, the Korean Society of Sports Medicine, the Korean Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, the Korean Foot and Ankle Society, and the Korean Arthroscopy Society.

Beyond basketball, he has broadened his experience across sports as team physician for pro soccer's Seoul E-Land FC and as a member of the Korea Little League Baseball Federation's medical committee.
He also has served as team physician for the national basketball team at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and at FIBA competitions in 2021, 2022, and 2025.

and what needs to be checked before returning to play, among other factors, all have to be considered together.

This does not mean applying the same treatment to athletes and general patients; it is closer to a perspective of taking each person's lifestyle and activity goals into account when assessing their current condition.

Dr. Sang-beom Kim has also continued to build his experience in sports orthopedics overseas.
He has trained at Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles, USA, in 2023–2024 as well as Tokyo Carifas Jujo Hospital in Japan in 2024,
and has continued related education, including the FIFA Diploma in Football Medicine and the AO Trauma Advanced Course.
Drawing on the experience he has built in the exam room, on the sports field, and through training programs in Korea and abroad,
he now sees local residents at Goyang Team Doctor Orthopedic Clinic.
